Meet the Realtors & Staff

George H. Beach

Beach & Bartolo, Realtors, lost our founder George H. Beach on January 19th of 2005. George was ninety-five years old and was active until a few weeks prior to his death. As a life-long resident of Spencertown and a Realtor for over forty years, George was considered the dean of local real estate. George had a life-long commitment to integrity and loyalty to both customers and clients. These principles are his legacy and live on in each of us at Beach & Bartolo, Realtors.

Chuck Bartolo, Principal Broker
A native of New York City, he moved to Columbia County in 1987. Chuck  joined George Beach Realty as a sales agent in 1988. Immediately there was chemistry. He and George Beach both shared the same basic business philosophy, "provide the best service in an honest manner to your customers & clients, and the business will grow", and so it has. Chuck's former business and work experience with company's like
Xerox and IBM allowed him to bring marketing and sales skills to the agency. Soon after, George asked Chuck to become his partner. Today we are now one of the county's largest and most respected agencies.

Deborah Kinney, Associate Broker
Before I moved to this area, I worked as a real estate agent in NYC. I began with extensive training offered by Century 21, then joined MJ Raynes RE, moved onto William B. May, and there spent several years developing skills geared towards the investment RE market. I was perfectly positioned then to assist my clients who had anticipated the RE market crash of the late 80's. I eventually joined Morgan Barrington as Director Of Investment Sales. During those years I began visiting this region. My RE philosophy remains one in which the investment potential of purchasing RE is my primary focus in guiding my customers & clients. It is my pleasure to find you your dream property or sell your current property, and I will work gladly at those task, but I will also do my best to enhance your financial portfolio with a profitable return. My cell number is 518-929-5422.

Barbara Conkling, Associate Broker
Originally from the New Jersey suburbs, Barbara has lived in Columbia County since 1976. Together, she and her husband Doug have raised four kids in the area - three boys and a girl, plus an assortment of dogs and cats and fish in a 1890's farmhouse in rural Red Rock, a hamlet outside the town of Chatham. In 2002, with her boys all grown up, her daughter looking at colleges, and facing an empty nest, Barb decided to turn her volunteer community, school & church work into a full-time job. She knew the county, its villages, towns and back roads (and nearly everyone in it), so she decided real estate would be her thing. Today, as an associate broker, Barb handles both residential and commercial real estate as well as separate land deals having closed on more than two deals a per month just this year. She is happy to broker deals on her own, with other brokers in her firm or in conjunction with outside associates. Her specialty is matching people with their dream homes and wonderful neighbors.

Tom Gilling, Sales Associate
A native of Wisconsin I earned a graduate degree in North Carolina many, many years ago and immediately moved to D.C. for ten years; then NYC for seven. Milan [Dutchess County] was my next destination and now here I am, “settled” in Chatham. While on this eastern journey from Greensboro, I taught art, exhibited in galleries, worked in advertising in New York City and assisted an architect/builder in Dutchess County. Now at Beach and Bartolo, having already been a real estate agent for over three years, I believe what it is I bring to the table for the buyer and seller is a multi-purpose background, creative yet practical and reinforced by the ability to really listen and get results.

Cathe Krueger, Sales Associate
Cathe was a successful fashion designer, living and working in Manhattan with her husband, and initially enjoying weekends in Columbia County. She actively pursued her passion for equestrian sports and activities, entertaining, gardening, antiquating and getting involved with many of the local organizations such as the Columbia County Land conservancy, Hudson Opera House, Old Chatham Hunts Club, Olana and the Shaker Museum. Working closely with these groups she realized she wanted to become a full time member of the community and she felt her skills could easily translate to the real estate profession. Being used to dead lines, working under pressure, negotiating, varied responsibilities, good follow-up, attention to detail and having good people and communication skills makes her a natural.  Having been a designer, she is creative and thinks 'out of the box' to get the job done successfully. Having had personal dealings with Beach & Bartolo, she realized judging by their level of professionalism, integrity, experience and success rate that she wanted to work as part of their team. As a liscensed sales person, Cathe can help you with all your Real Estate needs.

She loves working with people (especially first time homebuyers), and matching people to homes & loves to get e-mail jokes that make her laugh!
